Surf's up, Pookie! WE'RE HITTIN' THE BEACH!

Join us for an amazing weekend of friends, fun, fur and fantastic training against the breathtaking backdrop of Cayucos Beach, a three-hour drive north along the Central California Coast!

At J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails Cayucos Beach, you'll find yourself having fun from low tide to high, with a full schedule of activities such as surf-side training sessions, off-leash beach romps, picnics in the park, arts and crafts, a bonfire on the beach and even a dog-friendly boat ride!

It's a very special weekend of camp, open exclusively to PRE-APPROVED J9'sK9s students who have been evaluated off-leash, either in a J9'sK9s Advanced Unleashed Class or privately by J9'sK9s instructor Stephanie Colman.

Our "Home Base" for J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails Cayucos Beach will be The Cayucos Beach Inn, a quaint, 37-room property located just one block from the ocean. J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails campers will receive a discounted rate with a minimum two-night stay (Friday-Saturday) in a standard room. This discounted rate also applies for Thursday and/or Sunday for guests who wish to arrive early or stay longer. Standard rooms feature two queen beds or one king, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, color television, DVD player, hair dryer and wireless access.

Daily continental breakfast is included with room rental.

The Cayucos Beach Inn is extremely dog-friendly and offers a variety of special amenities to make our furry friends feel welcome! Check out the peephole located at dog-level (the paw print!) in the photo to the left! Guests with dogs also receive loaner dog blankets (to help manage dog hair on hotel furniture) and dog towels to use following beach adventures. There's even an elevated dog washing tub on the grounds where guests can rinse off or bathe sandy beach dogs!

Camper Requirements:

All canine campers must be pre-approved to attend. Students registering to attend J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails Cayucos Beach must be confident in their dog's recall when off-leash and around distractions. Participating dogs must not have arousal/aggression issues with people or dogs. If you'd like to attend and need to have your dog evaluated, J9'sK9s instructor Stephanie Colman and her dog "Quiz" will join you for an off-leash hike along a local trail. The fee for evaluation is $25.

Camp Fees:

J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails tuition is $225 per dog/handler team. A "team" shall consist of one dog and up to two humans from the same family. Additional human campers may attend with their team for $25 per person.

PLEASE NOTE:

Camp tuition DOES NOT include hotel accommodations and "extra" activities such as the dog-friendly boat ride, horseback riding or kayaking.

Cancellation Policy:

Participants needing to cancel will receive a tuition refund minus a $50 administration charge.

a completed camp registration form, along with full tuition payment to:

Checks will be held to reserve a camp spot and will not be cashed until the registration deadline.

Availability:

Due to the off-leash nature of this adventure, space is extremely limited.

What About Big Bear Camp?

J9'sK9s Camp Waggin' Tails will be back at Big Bear Lake in September! The minimum requirements for participating in Big Bear Camp will include completing at least one round of J9'sK9s Advanced class. We also ask that you and your dog have participated in a J9'sK9s class within not more than six weeks prior to attending camp. In other words, if it's been a while since we've seen you, you'll want to be sure and enroll in a class no later than over the summer in order to help meet the camp participation requirements!
